Re:The New BonsaiTree.com
2006/08/16 11:14 Excellent points. But I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. Surely, these tips will help you care for the plant and make sure it stays alive but a large part of owning a bonsai includes shaping, styling and designing your tree. So what are some good ways of knowing how to do these things?

- Attend local bonsai classes. (Usually you can find a local club or society that provides access to instructors or classes.)

Directory of Clubs/Societies in North America
Some International Bonsai Clubs

- Read a few books about bonsai.
Here are some good suggestions for Bonsai Books.

- Kill a few trees yourself. No, I'm not suggesting you purposely hack your tree to pieces. During the course of owning and caring for bonsai trees of your own (or any plant, for that matter) you will most definately have a few die on you. I am simply expressing that it WILL happen and this is how you learn. Above all else, DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!

Does anyone else have a few good suggestions?
