New to bonsai - help.

Hiya-well i baught a bansai from IKEA 2 weeks ago-gorgeous little thing but it seems to be dying-the tag didnt mention the name of the tree,but stated that it needs helf shade-not direct sunlight-and make sure the soil never goes dry and is constantly damp-SO iv done all this BUT still all its leaves are falling off - 72 leaves fell off within a day yesterday,is this normal?do they shed their leaves?its going bald,but its still producing leaves so i dunno......?
any help would be appreciated!
